Will Not Masturbating Boost Testosterone

Don't be a dope

Testosterone is a steroid hormone produced by the testes and is responsible for the development of male sex characteristics. Although it is a banned substance, testosterone pills and supplementation is a popular way of enhancing muscle development, strength and endurance (think Ben Johnson at the 1988 Olympics). You will be pleased to know, however, that recent studies have shown there are a number of ways to naturally boost testosterone levels without resorting to illegal doping and all its associated risks.

(Related: Complete guide to blood doping)

Why are high levels of testosterone beneficial?

Testosterone plays a key role in the health of both men and women, as it has anabolic effects. These include growth of muscle mass and strength, increased bone density, stimulation of height growth and bone maturation – in addition to virilising effects. Sustained low levels of testosterone can lead to obesity, brittle bones, muscle loss, low sex drive, moodiness, fatigue, erectile dysfunction and impotence.

What are the side effects of doping with injections or testosterone pills?

Injecting steroids that mimic high T-levels can cause vomiting, nausea, water retention, liver damage, high blood pressure and anger-management issues are just some of the possible side effects of taking illegal steroids. Your sex life could also suffer from decreased sperm production, prolonged and painful erections and shrinking of the testes. Plus, with the swelling of your arms, legs and face, the yellowing of your skin and eyes, and the acne, baldness, excessive body hair growth and gynecomastia (breast growth in men) that can come with testosterone substance abuse, you may feel more like a man, but you'll look a lot more like a beast.

There are testosterone pills that act as boosters using ingredients like magnesium or zinc, but they're not very exciting. Because it's done without resorting to illegal steroids, most over-the-counter testosterone pills are only likely to incrementally increase your body's natural production. There is no "magic bullet" when it comes to testosterone. Still, every little helps.

How can I boost my testosterone naturally?

Reduce your body fat
Excess body fat increases the production of the female sex hormone oestrogen, which can cause testosterone levels to dip. Lose the chub and you will hopefully have more chance to test out your new and improved libido.

Eat well
Don't just chow down on testosterone pills and expect your work to be done. Cutting your calorie intake when crash dieting is one of the worst things you can do. When you do this, your brain goes into starvation mode and shuts down testosterone production until the famine is over. This is due to the fact that high levels of testosterone burn more fat – and fast. Your body requires a steady supply of calories in order to produce testosterone, so regularly skipping meals may cause levels to nose-dive.

Tip: graze throughout the day, and have at least three solid meals a day.

Go compound and go heavy
Include a minimum of one weekly compound weightlifting session. Exercises like dead-lifts, squats and bench presses require you to use a number of large muscle groups simultaneously. Studies show that this is the most effective way of boosting testosterone, as the stress that compound weights put on your body requires higher levels of testosterone to aid muscle repair than those required during workouts that isolate individual muscle groups. If you're lifting more than six repetitions the weight is too light. Try working at around 85% of your one repetition maximum.

Tip: allow 48 hours' recovery as a minimum between working the same muscle groups.

Rest
After following our advice on compound weights, you probably won't need to be told this one, but research has found that failure to allow your body to recuperate adequately between sessions can cause testosterone to plummet by up to 30%. Make sure you are getting at least eight hours sleep a night, and try to get a one or two hour siesta at least once a week.

Go easy on the alcohol
Ever wondered why excess drinking causes you to go limp at the moment of truth? Binge drinking kills testosterone, so give yourself a three drink limit, and stick to it. Stay natural and get all the benefits without the risks.

If I Inject Myself With Testosterone Will I Become Straight

If I Inject Myself With Testosterone Will I Become Straight

Giving Yourself an Intramuscular (IM) Injection in the Upper Arm

Side view of man's arm showing shaded triangle on skin over shoulder joint.Your healthcare provider has prescribed a medicine that must be given by intramuscular (IM) injection. IM injections use a needle and syringe to send medicine to large muscles in your body. IM injections are usually given in the buttocks, thigh, hip, or upper arm.

You were shown how to do an IM injection in the hospital. If you did not get an instruction sheet covering those general steps, ask for one. This sheet reminds you how to give an IM injection in the upper arm.

Name of my medicine: ___________________________

Amount per injection: ____________________________

Times per day: _______________________________

Before you begin

  • Use the upper arm site only if other larger sites can't be used.

  • Don't use the upper arm site if you are very thin or have little to no muscle in your upper arm.

Step 1. Getting ready

  • Wash your hands well before and after all IM injections.

  • Prepare your medicine as you were shown by your healthcare provider.

Step 2. Finding an injection site

Imagine there is a triangle on your upper arm:

  • Find the bone at the top of your upper arm. It is where your arm meets your shoulder. This is one side of the triangle.

  • The other 2 sides of the triangle meet at a point below this bone, at about the level of your armpit.

  • The injection site is in the center of this triangle. It is about 1 to 2 inches below the bone at the top of your upper arm.

Step 3. Injecting the medicine

Prepare the site as you were shown by your healthcare provider. (See the general instruction sheet on giving yourself an IM injection. If you did not get this sheet, ask for one.)

  • Stretch the skin tight.

  • Hold the needle like a pencil. Insert the needle straight into your skin.

  • Give no more than 1 mL of medicine in this site. If the prescribed dose is more than 1 mL, choose a different site to inject the medicine.

Step 4. Removing the needle

  • Remove the needle and syringe outward and away from your body.

  • Let go of the skin.

Step 5. After the injection

  • Put the needle and syringe in a special container (sharps container).

  • Dispose of the other materials as you were shown by your healthcare provider.

  • Wash your hands well.

Medicine that comes in a container for a single dose should be used only 1 time. If you use the container a second time, it may have germs in it that can cause infections. These infections usually affect the skin and soft tissues. But some infections can affect the brain, spinal cord, or heart. Sharing another person's used needles or medicines can cause other infections such as hepatitis B and hepatitis C.

Follow-up care

Follow up with your healthcare provider, or as advised.

When to seek medical care

Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following:

  • Needle that breaks off in the injection site

  • Medicine injected into the wrong area

  • Problems that keep you from giving yourself the injection

  • Bleeding or pain at the injection site that won't stop

  • Rash or swelling at the injection site

  • Shortness of breath

  • Fever above 100.4°F (38°C)

Bedroom Built In Wardrobes

Bedroom Built In Wardrobes

The bedroom is one of our favourite rooms to renovate and restyle. Different elements of our personality come through in this space – it's where we sleep, relax, meditate and read. And now that many jobs have become home-based, we may even work in the bedroom – but on the whole, we want it to feel relaxed, tranquil and calm.

ASSESS YOUR SPACE

One of the first things to think about is the size and height of your room. If you have a high ceiling then why not think about making a feature of it? Painted ceilings are a trend right now and work well in spacious rooms. As long as you choose a paler colour than your walls, it won't feel as though it's closing in on you and it will be a real design feature!

CONSIDER YOUR LIGHT SOURCE

Identify where the natural light is coming from: is it a large window? Or maybe you're in a basement flat so all your windows are positioned high on the wall to make the most of the light from above? If you have an abundance of natural light then you have the luxury of being able to choose any colours that appeal to you. If light is limited, I would suggest sticking to a paler palette to prevent the space feeling pokey.

large front yard or garden of house

THINK ABOUT STORAGE

Storage is one of my favourite elements of a bedroom re-style. Floor-to-ceiling storage with nice doors and handles will help make your room feel sophisticated and also provide you with space for clothes and not-so-attractive things you want to hide away! With less clutter on show, your bedroom will feel bigger and calmer.

SIZE UP YOUR BED

Buy the largest bed you can afford, while being sure it will comfortably fit into your room and allow you to walk around it. Remember though, upsizing your bed means investing in a new mattress and new bedding, which will add to the cost.

WINDOW TREATMENTS

Blinds and curtains are a good investment in a bedroom and there are practicalities to consider: do you have a baby or live on a main road? If so, you may want blackout blinds. Or perhaps you need natural light to wake up in the morning, in which case voile curtains allow the light to gently filter in. If your windows are old and draughty, layering curtains over blinds will help keep the warmth in, while using a coloured or patterned fabric for linings will mean they'll also look great from outside.

STYLE IT WITH BEDLINEN

This is one of the most fun parts of designing your bedroom and is worth taking your time over. You'll probably end up using your duvet cover for years to come, so think carefully about the type of bedlinen you prefer. Do you lean towards plain white and neutrals, or do you love patterned designs and colours? Start with a moodboard of all your favourite fabrics and patterns and see where your creativity takes you. Happy decorating!

Yellow Bedroom Walls

Yellow Bedroom Walls

So you've moved into a new place or have finally saved up enough to decorate that neglected living room—yay you! When you start to plan out the design of your space, you'll surely think about the style you want to achieve (is it more preppy and traditional or coastal and casual?), colors you want to incorporate (with paint, pillows, rugs, and other accents), and of course the furniture pieces on your to-buy list. But in all this planning and Pinning, there is one design element you might be unknowingly neglecting: texture.

You've probably heard the phrase adding texture to a space, but do you know how to put it into action? It's a favorite buzzword among designers—and one of the keys to creating a space that looks "finished"—so we went straight to the source for the best tips and ideas to successfully incorporate texture to your home.

What Does Adding Texture Actually Mean?

To put it simply, adding texture means creating visual interest, explains Los Angeles-based designer Liz Foster. And you can do that in a number of ways, but the key is diversity among the objects and finishings in your space.

Furniture, Pillow, Cushion, Room, Bedding, Bed, Fur, Bedroom, Textile, Tree,

Jenna Peffley

"When we talk about adding texture, we are referring to the layering of various textiles, materials, colors, and metals in a space," say Christina Samatas and Renee DiSanto, the Chicago duo behind Park & Oak Interior Design. Think: adding a wool blanket to your leather armchair, a coffee table that mixes brass and unfinished wood, a pink velvet sofa against a pink wallpapered wall.

Liz points out that in addition to being something you can touch and feel, texture can also refer simply to a visual display of objects. "For instance, a collection of varying types of pottery displayed on a shelf will give your space more 'texture' or 'visual interest' than a single framed photo displayed in the same spot," she says.

Lots of Layers Means Lots of Pieces

Living room, Furniture, Room, Interior design, Home, Property, Table, Coffee table, Wall, Ceiling,

Renee DiSanto

Here's one secret: Nailing the textured, layered look usually takes time—that is unless you're a designer with a storage unit full of staging decor. That's why sometimes when you first move into a new home, even filling it up with all the necessities leaves it feeling like it's missing something.

"I think forgetting to layer in texture can lead to a space feeling flat, or soulless," says Nashville designer Lori Paranjape. Christina and Renee second that idea: "Texture is really the secret to making a space look and feel finished and lived in. The more you can mix opposing elements the better."

Over time, you can buy pieces that really speak to you and add them in to create a new layer and further fill out a space. And doing this gradually is almost always better than trying to buy every single element at once (again, those designers have been stockpiling or eyeing these perfectly placed goods for months if not years), because you shouldn't buy something just because it checks a box if you don't love it.

Bedroom, White, Room, Furniture, Interior design, Bed sheet, Yellow, Bed, Property, Bed frame,

Jenna Peffley

"I encourage incorporating texture for the same reason I discourage clients from buying items in 'sets,'" Liz says. "Like when the coffee table and side tables are a perfect match. A room feels flat and lifeless if all the furniture is the same wood with the same linen upholstery, drapes, and pillows." Again, diversity is key.

Let's Get Layering

So as you purchase new layers for your home (or simply rearrange what's already there), here are some ideas and guidelines to keep in mind to ensure you're incorporating texture like a pro.

Texture can be monochromatic:

"If a space I'm designing is white, I never try to stay with the same white tone. I use an entire spectrum of whites, beige, taupe, ivory, even black. It's the build-up of sameness that keeps the space from feeling flat or cold." - Lori Paranjape

Countertop, Furniture, Room, White, Cabinetry, Kitchen, Interior design, Property, Ceiling, Building,

Paige Rumore Photography

Keep track of what's already there:

"When designing a room, I'm constantly reminding myself of what materials are being used where to ensure there's enough contrast. I'm making sure I'm not pulling a brass lamp to go on a brass side table or an oak mirror to go over an oak console." - Liz Foster

Don't limit your texture to accent pieces:

Sometimes creating the right mix of materials and textures is a little more involved than adding a new throw pillow. Don't forget about your walls (paint and wallpaper are the ultimate backdrop for all your other layers), light sources (a treasure trove of material options), and flooring (try layering rugs).

Bathroom, Room, Property, Interior design, Tile, Furniture, Floor, Building, House, Real estate,

Renee DiSanto

Don't be afraid of lots of mixed materials:

"If you mix a leather sofa with a glass coffee table, raw oak side table, chrome-framed armchair with wool upholstery, and so on, your space will look and feel much more interesting and unexpected now that you've incorporated a wide variety of textures." - Liz

Adding bit by bit doesn't have to break the bank:

"A fur pillow on a linen sofa or layering a vintage wool runner over a large seagrass area rug are easy ways to add texture without much expense." - Liz

3 Green Bedroom Ideas - Create a Calming Oasis in Your Interior

Are you dreaming of a green bedroom and still looking for a good idea? Are you not sure which design is best for your house or apartment? A green bedroom can look very impressive - provided that you fit the decor to the interior's character. Such a color palette offers plenty of possibilities - also for the style of the interior. But most importantly - green iis a soothing color. It's perfect then for a place that is meant to give you relaxation after a long, exhausting day. Check the most interesting ideas for a green bedroom.

3 Green Bedroom Ideas - Create a Calming Oasis in Your Interior

Green bedroom - a soothing interior

It's not a secret that colors have a great influence on humans - our psyche and well-being. No wonder then, that it's an important factor when designing home interiors. Some colors can motivate to action - they should be used in home interiors like an office at home. Others are calming, and they have the ability to put one in a relaxed state. They are perfect for a bedroom or living room.

There is a color that guarantees serenity and can make you calm down immediately - green. No wonder that its different shades are used in bedrooms.

A dark green bedroom or a bright color palette?

Picking a shade is one of the most basic, and at the same time biggest dilemmas one can encounter when designing a green bedroom. The possibilities are quite numerous. You can pick brighter shades like mint, pistachio or celadon. But these are just a few of the options. Darker hues like bottle green or emerald are equally popular.

If you're wondering which shade is the right one, you can simplify your decision. By establishing certain basic issues, you can at least determine which color palette - dark or light you should use.

Pay attention to the following issues:

  • your own preferences,
  • the size of the room designated for a bedroom,
  • the layout of the interior and the access to natural light,
  • the style you wish to achieve.

Small interiors with a tiny window - or completely without it won't look good in a dark color palette. On the other hand, a light green bedroom might annoy you instead of having a soothing effect. In such a case, the size of the room is a secondary issue - your preferences are the main factor.

A green bedroom - pick a strong wall color

If green is your favourite color and you're dreaming of a green bedroom, consider using this shade on the walls. It's a perfect background for less pronounced elements, e.g. grey furniture.

Green walls look perfect in combination with pastel colors, e.g. beige, taupe or ecru. Sometimes not-so-obvious combinations make the interior look unique. Dusty pink is a good example - it looks impressive when combined with green.

If your green bedroom has walls in this color, make sure to pay attention to the lighting. Green looks completely different with "warm" and "cool" lightbulbs.

Furniture and accessories for your green bedroom

A green bedroom doesn't mean just colored walls. Furniture is often the decisive factor as for the character of the room. In smaller interiors, it can be simply a green upholstered bed. In larger rooms, you can add a wing chair in the same color.

Although a green bedroom is not the most popular choice, manufacturers offer a wide variety of products in this regard. You can easily match the color of the bed with your own expectations. But regardless of how many types you can find in the catalogues - a dark emerald green bed is the most popular choice.

You don't have to create a so-called "total look" in your green bedroom. The room's character often relies on the accessories and decorations. Adding a large soft shag rug is a great option.

A green bedroom - a controlled balance

Do you want to create an interesting and modern interior design that combines different elements? It's not a problem at all. A green bedroom can have just one wall in this color. Simply use shades of gray, the mentioned pink or beige on the rest.

This way, you can use one wall as the background for the bed. Make sure it's not green as well - unless you use a clever trick and pick a light shade of green for the wall and add a bed that is at least a few tones darker.

If your green bedroom has only one wall in this color, you can also use other green accessories. But make sure not to mix too many shades - two or three are just enough. This way, you can get a really interesting effect, and the room won't irritate you.

📍 A green bedroom - what accessories to pick?

If you decided on a green bedroom, make sure to pick the decorations carefully. They greatly affect the style of the interior. White, beige, grey and black elements are universal decorations for a green bedroom. Brown accessories can also look good - but it depends on the shade.

📍 Is a green bedroom a good idea?

A green bedroom is a perfect place to rest. Such a color palette is very soothing and calming. If you are planning to design a bedroom and have no idea what color should dominate - consider using green.

Princess Style Bedroom Set

Princess Style Bedroom Set

cheap bedroom sets

For the past few months, I've been trying to make my master bedroom more of a haven. I live in a small apartment, and I work at home from a desk in my bedroom, so it can be hard to make it a peaceful environment when all the room screams is work, work, work.

I'm considering buying a new bedroom set to improve the space. It can be challenging to find an affordable set, though. Some bedroom sets from top luxury brands can cost as much as $10,000, and even some mid-range design stores like Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel can charge several thousand dollars for a bed and a couple of pieces of matching furniture.

Because I don't have the budget to invest so heavily in a new set of bedroom furniture, I set out on a mission to find beautiful-but-cheap bedroom sets that have great ratings and will last a long time. I know I'll probably have to move next year due to my husband's job, so I also want a style that's timeless enough not to look out of place — no matter where we end up.

If you're also looking for an affordable bedroom set, here are some of my top tips:

Don't be brand specific.

Sure, that Ethan Allen set is completely stunning as is the ultra modern and sleek set from Z Gallerie. However, when you're searching for a bedroom set, try not to be brand specific.

Although I've liked one particular luxury tufted bed for many years now, I recently saw a similar one at Wal-Mart of all places. So, don't let the name of the store dissuade you from purchasing an item there. You never know what you're going to find and where, so it's best to be open minded about the brand you select.

You don't have to be matchy-matchy.

It's great to have every piece of furniture in your room match — that's the whole idea of a set, right? Most of the examples featured below do match, but I also want to encourage you to be a bit creative too.

Maybe buy a bed and a dresser that match but purchase unique nightstands that stand on their own. Or you can get dressers, side tables, and a mirror that match, but your bed can be a unique color or a statement piece.

Finally, don't be afraid to upgrade gradually from the inherited furniture you already have, or to take a more eclectic approach and incorporate a nice piece or two from a yard sale or secondhand store.

Buy floor samples.

Some people want brand-new furniture, while others don't mind buying a new set that lots of people have sat on if it means they're going to get a good deal on the price. Floor samples are often in excellent condition. They might have a few scratches or dents from being moved around the showroom, but more often than not they are free from stains and other large issues and offer a great discount.

Remember to measure.

You might love one of those huge canopy beds (I love them myself), but there's no reason to pay more for a large or ornate bedroom set if you have a small space. Large furniture can make a room feel very cramped and small, so even if you find your dream bedroom set, be sure to measure your room to make sure everything will fit and that your purchase is worth the price.

Our favorite affordable bedroom sets

Here are some of the best, well-priced bedroom sets I came across in my search. All get good reviews or come from reputable retailers. I've grouped them by the number of pieces of furniture included in the price.

Two-piece bedroom sets

Two-piece bedroom sets can cost several thousand dollars at some stores, and a beautiful bed just by itself can cost more than $1,000. The three sets below all come in at under $1,000 for both pieces of furniture.

The Aspen Collection Queen Bed & Nightstand Set

aspen affordable bedroom set

Cost: $536

This two-piece bedroom set is perfect for the homeowner who has a classic, traditional style. It would work best in a home that has a lot of wood tones with bedroom linens that are more casual versus high end. The $536 price tag makes it an affordable option for just about anyone, whether you're getting your first apartment after college, are a newlywed, or just want to spruce up your bedroom with a classic furniture style.

IKEA Storage Bedroom Set

cheap bedroom furniture

Cost : $400

What I love the most about this IKEA bedroom set is that the Malm bed comes with built-in under-the-bed storage. This is great for a small space because you won't have to purchase an additional dresser. Pair this with a sleek and simple IKEA rolling coffee table as your nightstand and you've got a great two-piece bedroom set with a ton of storage for a very low price.

The Baxton Studio Modern Bedroom Set

Cost: $926

This beautiful gray, modern bedroom set is unique: Instead of coming with a nightstand or dresser it actually includes a bench for the foot of the bed. The bench offers a place to get dressed in the morning and put on your shoes, and looks simply beautiful with the bed. This set would look great with mirrored or wooden nightstands, and adds a big dose of elegance for under $1,000. (Also check out the beige linen version here.)

Three- and four-piece bedroom sets

All the bedroom sets below have either three or four pieces and come in at under $1,750.

IKEA Country House Bedroom Set

Cost: $787

This cute, four-piece cottage-style bedroom is based on IKEA's Tyssedal series. Perfect for a summer retreat or farmhouse feel, the simple white set comes with a bed frame, two nightstands, and a six-drawer dresser. Add a wardrobe for $349 and you have a five-piece bedroom that barely tops $1,000. And like anything else IKEA, you can swap in just about anything else in the store to put your own spin on this affordable bedroom set.

The Bermuda Bedroom Set

affordable bedroom set

Cost: $538

If you love a beachy vibe in your home to remind you of the ocean, the waves, and the smell of the saltwater, then you'll love this bedroom set. It's an amazing price too. At $538, you get three pieces of furniture including a headboard, nightstand, and chest.

The Jilly Bean Bedroom Set

affordable bedroom set

Cost: $1,749

This Jilly Bean bedroom set includes a queen bed frame, nightstand, dresser, and mirror. It has a really nice, modern look that would be great for couples who can't agree on a design. You can't go wrong with the beautiful sloped headboard and coordinating pieces.

The Phillipe Bedroom Set

cheap bedroom sets

Cost: $782

If you've always loved the appearance of sleigh beds then you'll love this four-piece bedroom set . It's French inspired and comes with a large mirror that's perfect for getting ready in the morning, along with a dresser and nightstand (the chest in the background is not included).

This set would work best in a bedroom that's more spacious, because the dark cherry wood, while luxurious, can make a small room feel even smaller. The price is great at around $782 — with free shipping, too.

Five-piece bedroom sets

All the bedroom sets below have either five pieces and come in at under $2,000.00.

IKEA Tropical Bedroom Set

Cost: $528

I always love looking through the IKEA catalog because they put together beautiful rooms at affordable prices. You can get the look found in this tropics-inspired bedroom using IKEA's Brusali series. A bed frame, two nightstands, and two four-drawer dressers add up to a very affordable $528.

That means you'll have enough money left over to buy some of the other details pictured, like the $49 lamps, to complete the scene and create your own tropical refuge.

The Regitina Bedroom Set

affordable bedroom furniture

Cost: $1,820

I fell in love with this bedroom set as soon as I saw it. I love that it includes a huge mirror and the white color makes it feel light, bright, and airy despite the amount of furniture in the room. While it's one of the more expensive sets on this list, it's still well below what many other stores charge for five pieces of furniture.

The Napa White Bedroom Set

Cost: $1,949

Although I do like the more traditional bedroom sets featured on this list, I felt like

this one

was very unique. It's white — the color of the year for 2016, at least according to Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams — but the small design details, especially the headboard, really make it stand out.

Le Charmel Bedroom Set

cheap bedroom sets

Cost: $1,296

For under $1,300, this bedroom set provides a lot of value. It includes the bed, dresser, two nightstands, and a mirror — so all you'll need to buy outside of this set are some bed linens and decorative pillows. It has a nice traditional style that would go well in many homes.
